Start Spreading the Rules:  Rewriting the Rule Book for the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission

The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) has contracted with TATC to provide a comprehensive review and revision of rules regulating the city's yellow taxicabs, for-hire vehicles, and commuter vans.  The TLC Rule Book had become inconsistent, outdated, and difficult to use as a tool to promote the city's policy objectives for public car transportation.

In 2007, TATC was selected to rewrite TLC's Rule Book and transform it into a document that is relevant, written in plain English, and easy to access and navigate.  The first order of business was to engage TLC professional staff, industry representatives, vehicle drivers, stakeholders, and the general riding public in the process.  TATC will also be supporting TLC in their public outreach efforts on this initiative.  TATC brings a rich skill mix to the project:  our expertise in team building and change management as well as our fresh approach to the rewriting and reorganization of the Rule Book.
