Career Voyages Website Scores a Hit!
Since 2004, TATC Consulting has managed Career Voyages, a career exploration website jointly sponsored by the U.S. Departments of Education and Labor. Career Voyages is designed to educate students, parents, career counselors and career changers about the in-demand occupations in high growth and emerging industries.
The site offers content and tools to assist users in their search for career information as well as education and training resources. The site makes economical use of government data, industry information, and provides hyperlinks to other career exploration-oriented web sites.
In addition to overseeing a complete redesign of the site, TATC is now responsible for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the site using the latest technological tools available. Working with staff from the U.S. Department of Labor, numerous state level government staff, and other contractors, we successfully manage a widely dispersed team to achieve a common goal: a quality web site of robust depth that remains engaging for our core audience of young adults.
The proof is in the numbers. Our revision of the website has resulted in an exponential growth in its use – from 1 million hits per month to an average of 17 million hits per month. In 2006, the site was honored with a Secretary of Labor Award.
