Maintaining Momentum:  TATC Business Relations Group Support Continues

In 2002, the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration established the Business Relations Group (BRG) with an explicit goal:  to transition the publicly-funded workforce investment system to a demand-driven approach focused on providing greater responsiveness to employer needs.

From the beginning, TATC Consulting has played a key role in translating the then-Assistant Secretary’s vision for BRG into a reality. In our consulting capacity, TATC worked with stakeholders from government, education and business to identify barriers and address challenges that emerged in refocusing the workforce development system. And, we were instrumental in establishing a set of national partnerships with business organizations to engage them in more effectively utilizing the resources available from the publicly-funded workforce investment system.

TATC currently provides support to several of the BRG’s major efforts including the President’s High Growth Job Training Initiative, which engages business, educational institutions and the workforce investment system to develop solutions to the workforce challenges with information about useful resources available from the workforce investment system.  We also provide technical assistance in developing and implementing industry-focused solution summits, grantee orientations, and conferences.  In addition, TATC represents BRG in several broad-based federal initiatives that include the U.S. Department of Labor as a participating agency, including the Shared Youth Vision and the Inter-agency Taskforce on the Aging of the American Workforce.
