e-Learning Course on Human Rights for the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), World Health Organization (WHO)

TATC produced an e-learning program focusing on the health and human rights of persons with physical and psychiatric disabilities, HIV/AIDS, and older persons for the World Health Organization’s (WHO), Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).  The course, also developed into Spanish, Portuguese, and French versions, is to be used as an educational tool to address the underlying social and economic determinants of health through policies and programs that enhance health equity and integrate pro-poor, gender-responsive, and human rights based approaches.

PAHO’s project on public health and international human rights law is part of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global strategies in this area.  Integrating human rights norms and standards into policies, laws, practices and programs of WHO corresponds to the need for the organization as a whole to respond effectively to a complex, multi-dimensional and changing international context.
