Michael Barber, MSOD

Senior Consultant

Mr. Barber is a Senior Consultant at TATC with over 18 years of combined professional experience in organization development, training, and human resources. He has extensive skills in data gathering, analysis, needs assessment, and instructional system design (ISD). He has conducted numerous train the trainer programs to increase trainers’ skills in facilitation, adult learning techniques, and presentation techniques.

Mr. Barber also works as an advocate for “going green.” Going green means to pursue knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyles, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations. Mr. Barber has worked extensively with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to train new instructors for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Faculty Training Program, assist with strategic planning efforts, and design public LEED workshops.

Mr. Barber developed three corporate universities at Net2000 Communications, Nextel Communications, and Razorsight Corporation. He also co-authored a case study linking classroom learning to tangible business results in J. Kirkpatrick’s 2005 book, Transferring Learning to Behaviors: Using the Four Levels to Attack One of Training’s Biggest Challenges.

Mr. Barber earned his Masters of Science in Organization Development from American University, and his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University. Mr. Barber is a certified Situational Leadership II Instructor and also holds certifications in the FIRO Element-B Behavioral Assessment® and Apter Motivational Style Profile (AMSP)© tools.
