Successfully Managed Workforce Innovations Conference for Tenth Year Running

Since 1997, TATC Consulting has served as the prime contractor in managing the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration’s showcase Workforce Innovations conference. We have grown this annual conference from 1,000 participants to 3,000 at our most recent event held in July 2006 in Anaheim, California. For this event, we secured 112 exhibitors, supported 21 conference-related business meetings, generated 36 sponsors, and produced a 144-page conference program listing the 115 workshops included as part of the conference.

Led a Series of Expert Panel Meetings to Develop an Innovative System for Training and Testing Metal-working Competencies

For the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS), TATC Consulting facilitated a series of expert panel meetings focused on developing and validating competency systems for a series of metal-working jobs. TATC planned and facilitated the sessions and prepared a detailed report documenting the results. Meeting participants were recognized experts drawn from leading manufacturers and metal-working training providers throughout the United States.

Managed a Series of Regional Forums to Obtain Stakeholder Input on Agri-business and Workforce Investment Systems to Develop New Policy Approaches

For the Employment and Training Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor, TATC Consulting managed a series of three, day and a half-long forums to communicate a new vision for serving agricultural employer and worker customers and to obtain input from its stakeholder constituencies. TATC led the agenda planning process, facilitated forum discussion groups, provided meeting logistics support, developed a forum summary report, and supported post-Forum technical assistance. The forum work builds on several years of TATC research and support for ETA policy-setting regarding services to migrant and seasonal farm workers.

Successfully Executed the Government’s “Disability Mentoring Day” Conference to Enhance Work Opportunities for People with Disabilities

For the Office of Disability Employment Policy of the U.S. Department of Labor, TATC Consulting provided meeting planning and support services to this one-day event which offered mentoring opportunities to high-school aged persons with disabilities. TATC arranged for disability support services (e.g., sign-language interpreters, CART Services), engaged and coordinated the services of multiple vendors, and managed the pre- and on-site registration process. We also worked closely with our client in developing the agenda and structure for the event.

Led a Strategic Planning Executive Retreat to Establish a Vision and Plan for the Future for a Prominent Non-profit Foundation

As a follow-up to an organizational and leadership assessment, TATC conducted a two-day executive retreat for the Executive Team of the Maurice Udall Foundation, a government-sponsored foundation focused on the preservation and protection of Native Americans’ national heritage through studies in the environment, Native American health and tribal policy, and effective public policy conflict resolution. TATC designed, developed, and facilitated the retreat, which addressed issues that emerged from the initial assessment phase, clarified roles and responsibilities within the Executive Team, identified staffing needs, and developed the framework for a three-year strategic plan.
