Selected Examples of TATC’s Training Experience
Provide all Management and Supervisory Skills Training for the 17,000-Person Staff of the U.S. Department of Labor
For the Office of Continuous Learning and Career Management of the U.S. Department of Labor, TATC designed, developed, and delivered supervisory and professional training for over 100 classes per year, at the national, regional and field levels, in over 20 different course subjects, training over 1,500+ participants per year. In addition, we conducted training needs assessments; designed and delivered training programs, briefings, and seminars; facilitated sessions, provided organizational development services; and evaluated the training and related consultative programs to provide continuous input to program improvement.
Cross-Occupational Training for Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
DHS and CBP evaluate managerial and supervisory employees on core competencies in communication, customer service, representing the agency, teamwork and cooperation, technical proficiency, assigning/monitoring/evaluating work, and leadership. Following CBP Directive 51430-003A on Performance Management, non supervisory employees are evaluated on core competencies of job knowledge, technical skills, professionalism, and working with others. CBP did not have an agency-wide program to provide workforce development opportunities in the core competencies which are valid for staff in all positions at various levels across all CBP offices.
Professional Development Courses for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services University (HHSU)
TATC was selected by HHSU to deliver Dealing with Difficult People, Creativity and Innovation: Thinking Out of the Box, and Delegation for Results to HHS employees at all levels. The objectives for the training include:
- Improving HHS human capital management by supporting HHS’ goal of recruiting, developing, retaining, and strategically managing a world-class workforce
- Providing a well-managed and secure enterprise information technology environment operated by an informed, stable and reliable workforce
- Improving the management of HHS by providing ongoing oversight, evaluation, and analysis of policies and programs and by ensuring effective strategic communications
